Superboy Vol 1 #137 – Superboy’s New Identity and Kryptonian Prank!
Superboy Vol 1 #137 (April 1967), by Leo Dorfman with George Papp’s art, is a charming Silver Age issue with two stories. In “Superboy’s Blind Identity!,” an earthquake fissure seemingly kills the Kent family in public view, prompting Superboy, Jonathan, and Martha to relocate to Dover as the Kendalls. Superboy adopts a blind “Charlie Kendall” persona, which proves trickier than his Clark Kent guise. He foils bank robbers and devises a plan to return to Smallville without raising suspicion, resuming his Clark Kent identity with Lana Lang and Chief Parker none the wiser. In “The Mysterious Mighty Mite!,” the Sulor family—Kryptonian-like Gerionians—prank Superboy by leaving a baby, Qor Sulor, on the Kents’ porch, pretending he ages rapidly due to Superboy’s error. Older Sulors swap in to fake aging, but Superboy uncovers the joke and pranks them back, delighting all.
