Superboy Vol 1 #94 – Superboy Outwits the Revenge Squad!
Superboy Vol 1 #94 (January 1962), by Robert Bernstein with George Papp’s art, is a thrilling Silver Age issue featuring two tales. In “The Superboy Revenge Squad,” the Wexrians of Wexr II, defeated by Superboy a year prior, form a Revenge Squad to destroy Earth. They track Superboy’s thought patterns with a device, planning to obliterate his home planet. Superboy hypnotizes himself to forget his identity for 24 hours, evading detection until the Squad leaves. Pete Ross impersonates Superboy in Smallville, tricking Clark into performing “super-feats” to maintain the ruse. In the backup, “The Boy of Steel’s Super-Initiation,” Clark Kent fails a high school fraternity’s harsh initiation, so as Superboy, he teaches the cruel frat leader, Chester Pierce, a lesson in humility.
