The Daily Drop: Red Sonja, Carrot Top, and Rita Rudner Prove Gingers Have Soul During Musical Motown Medley

Las Vegas, NV – March 21, 2025

In a groundbreaking move to shatter stereotypes and dazzle eardrums, the Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas announced its latest headline act dubbed “Gingers with Soul,” featuring the fiery trio of Red Sonja, Carrot Top, and Rita Rudner. The event, set to take place this weekend, promises to deliver soul music so funky it’ll leave audiences questioning everything they thought they knew about redheads and their alleged soul deficiency.

Red Sonja, the sword-swinging comic book icon known for slaying foes and rocking chainmail bikinis, will trade her blade for a microphone, belting out sultry renditions of Aretha Franklin classics. “I’ve conquered barbarians,” Sonja declared at a press conference, her crimson locks glinting under the neon lights. “Now it’s time to conquer ‘Respect.’ People say gingers don’t have soul? Watch me put some stank on it.”

Joining her is Carrot Top, the prop-comedy legend whose wild orange mane has long been a Vegas staple. Armed with a keytar and a suitcase full of bedazzled gadgets, he plans to funkify the stage with a cover of James Brown’s “I Feel Good” that reportedly involves a confetti cannon shaped like a giant carrot. “I’ve been told I’m soulless my whole career,” he said, pausing to adjust a pair of oversized sunglasses. “But when I drop this beat, you’ll feel the soul from here to Reno.”

Rounding out the trio is Rita Rudner, the soft-spoken comedian whose dry wit will take a backseat to her newly revealed pipes. Rudner, sporting a sequined gown and a tambourine, plans to channel Diana Ross with a rendition of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” that she promises will “climb higher than my property taxes.” When asked about the ginger-soul stereotype, she quipped, “I’ve got soul, darling. It’s just been hiding behind my sunscreen budget.”

The idea for “Gingers with Soul” reportedly came after a late-night brainstorming session at the Orleans’ all-you-can-eat shrimp buffet, where the three redheads bonded over their shared hair color and a mutual love of Motown. “We’re tired of the jokes,” Carrot Top explained, brandishing a rubber chicken for emphasis. “No soul? Pale and heartless? Nah, man, we’re bringing the groove. SPF 50 and all.”

The show has already sparked controversy, with a rival act at the Mirage—titled “Blondes Have More Fun(k)”—claiming the gingers are stealing their thunder. Meanwhile, local soul aficionados are cautiously optimistic. “I’ll believe gingers have soul when I hear it,” said Marvin “Sweet Notes” Jackson, a Vegas lounge singer. “If Red Sonja can hit those high notes without decapitating anyone, I might just be a convert.”

Tickets for “Gingers with Soul” are on sale now, with VIP packages including a meet-and-greet.  The Orleans Hotel expects a sold-out crowd and overflow parking proving that in Vegas, even the most unexpected acts can find a little soul under the glitter and glare.
