Pre-Order Guarantee

We stand behind our pre-orders with this simple promise: If we do not ship your pre-ordered item during its official release week — and we have it in stock — you will receive:
  • The comic book(s) you ordered, plus
  • $10 VCK Digital Gift Card credit per line item
Gift Card Details:
  • Issued automatically to your VCK email used to check-out
  • Expires 1 year from the date it is issued
  • Can be used on anything in our store (shipping, new comics, back issues, merch, etc.)
Important Exceptions
No $10 credit will be issued if the delay is caused by someone else. This includes:
  • Publisher delays or push-backs
  • Distributor delays
  • Shipping carrier delays
We will provide clear proof of the delay (publisher/distributor announcement, tracking info, etc.) so you know exactly why your book is late.

What is FOC?

FOC stands for Final Order Cutoff. Every week, publishers (Marvel, DC, Image, Boom, etc.) set a deadline — every Monday at (11:30PM EST/8:30pm PST) about 4-6 weeks before a comic’s release — called the Final Order Cutoff (FOC).
  • FOC Day is the last day comic shops and online retailers like VCK can order copies from the distributor.
  • Once FOC passes, the publisher locks in the print run and prints exactly how many copies were ordered.
  • After FOC, it is extremely difficult (and often impossible) to get additional copies printed.
Release Date vs FOC Date
  • FOC Date = The deadline to guarantee your copy. FOC IS ALWAYS ON MONDAY
  • Release Date = The week the comic actually arrives in stores and ships to customers. RELEASE IS ALWAYS ON WEDNESDAY
Example:
A comic with a Release Date of October 8 might have an FOC Date of August 7. You must order by August 7 to be sure you get it.
